Survival Week is one week every quarter where we focus on teaching survival skills in the water, should something happen outside of our lessons.
Did you know that British Swim School not only offers lessons for infants, children and youth, but that we also set ourselves apart from other swim schools by offering our distinctive take on full lessons for adults?
Every May, the need for ongoing water safety education is highlighted during Water Safety Month. At British Swim School, every month is water safety month because unfortunately, drowning is the fifth leading cause of unintentional death in the United States.
Learning Water Survival is first and foremost a skill – not a sport or activity. It is a lifelong necessity, and is always in-season.
Even strong swimmers can run into trouble if they fall in the ice. Enjoy the the winter season more by learning how to judge ice conditions and what to do in a case of an ice emergency.
Did you know your child could get smarter by learning how to swim at an early age? An in-depth study* shows children in swim lessons performed significantly better than the typical population in every major milestone.
Purchase swim lessons for that special someone this year. And give the gift of life.
Why teach kids to swim in their clothes for survival week? In one word: safety. As we teach students water survival techniques, one important lesson is learning to navigate the water while fully clothed.
