Trusted by families and loved by students since 1981:

British Swim School - East Valley is a locally owned family business. Our program is unique. No other swim school has more expertise in teaching families water survival and swim skills. Our lessons are based on almost 40 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE which puts us head and shoulders above the rest. We are committed to making sure your family is SAFE in the water as quickly as possible with our highly effective goal-based program.

Why choose British Swim School?

  • We put Safety First! Our goal is to get you and your entire family SAFE in and around the water as quickly as possible using gentle, fun methods so that you and your kids will learn to LOVE the water. We don’t just teach children how to be safe IN the water, we also teach you and your children water safety to help them avoid falling INTO the water. Our Survival Week events teach children in their STREET-CLOTHES because real-life accidents happen fully clothed and each student needs to learn to how this extra weight feels in the water in a safe environment,
  • Highly-Trained, Child-Friendly Instructors - Our instructors have the highest number of training hours in the industry. They start with a minimum of 40 hours of training, with additional modules in adult swimming and special abilities. They also have weekly coaching sessions with our Aquatics Director, who has over 40 years of aquatics experience and a degree in Adapted Aquatics. Our instructors go through Red Cross National Lifeguard and CPR certification. By the end of each instructor’s first year, they will have completed over 100 hours of specialized training.
  • Everybody is WELCOME! - Our mission is to make sure that EVERY person - regardless of age or ability becomes a safe and happy swimmer. We teach babies from 3 months old, parent/child, toddlers, youth, pre-teens, teens, and adults. We work with students with any special needs (Adapted Aquatics). We’ve even trained triathletes and special forces! We believe it is never too late to learn how to swim or to become a better swimmer.
  • Small Classes - We are a Premier “boutique-style” school. Classes are small and focused on the individual needs of each student. Our pools are never crowded.
  • Extraordinary Customer Service - From deck staff to swim instructors to our office staff, we are passionate about what we do! Our staff is there for you - before, during and after lessons! We enjoy getting to know our students and families on a personal level and building relationships that can last for years. If you have questions or concerns, we are ready to help.
  • Parent Involvement Encouraged! - We want parents on the pool deck and involved in the learning process to help students learn quickly. We can offer CPR or Lifeguard certification to parents to add an extra level of safety.
  • Ongoing Enrollment– British Swim School lessons are held year-round and ongoing because CONSISTENCY is key in learning a new skill. British Swim School students graduate and advance INDIVIDUALLY based on 5 clearly defined goals, so you can start at any time. No student is held back or pressured by the progress of the group.
  • Fast Progression - Because of all of the above, your child will learn to be safe faster - saving you time and money spent on swim lessons and giving you peace of mind sooner rather than later.
  • Multiple, Convenient Locations. Flexible Classes - We are in your neighborhood! We currently operate 3 indoor schools in the East Valley in San Tan Valley, Mesa, and Gilbert, 7 days a week, year-round.

Testimonials

Would recommend highly!

Started with myself but now we are going as a family to learn brilliant staff and teachers. Would recommend highly!

Can’t say enough about how good they are.

The instructors were incredibly patient with me and my growth as an adult swimmer. I could swim to save my life, but did so in such a poor manner. They took the time to help me break down my strokes and create a strategy to improve on my efficiency so that I can achieve my goal of competing in triathlons. Love this place and can’t say enough about how good they are.

I highly recommend this swim school!

My wife and I brought our 2 boys to this class. It was a rough start for them as they did not want to go in the water. In a couple of weeks they were able to overcome their fear and is now performing above our expectations. This system really works. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids who wants to learn how to swim for survival and just fir the fun of it. My 2 sons love their instructor which helps a out a lot. Thank you to the team for being patient with my kids and always encouraging them to learn. They also have an app which makes it easier for you to see any updates regarding swim class schedule changes. I highly recommend this swim school!

One of the best places to have your kids learn.

I have seen kids learn to float and swim in a matter of weeks and they love to come back. They learn to love the water by singing songs and having fun while learning an important survival skill. Being an instructor there I’ve seen kids go from crying just being near the pool deck to never wanting to leave the water. All the instructors have extensive training and it’s always being refreshed so the instructors are always the best they can be and the aquatics director has 40 years of experience teaching kids how to swim. If you want results fast and you want your kids or yourself to have fun give them a call or message me and I’ll put you in touch with the owner. The team is like a family and the moment you start classes with BSS you become a part of that family as well. It’s never to early or to late to enjoy the water.

Dylan - Former Swim Instructor

I recommend this place.

My daughter made a big progress in her “swimming”. She’s only 3 years old and attends there since November last year. On the very beginning she didn’t want float on her back and she screamed on the whole fitness center. Now she still doesn’t like it but she do it without a big problem. The teachers are very competitive and watch the whole time on the children’s safety. Even your child has a bad day and doesn’t want swimming they try to convince them during some splash games or toys to the lesson but they don’t force them. If you child is sick or out of the town, you can easily reschedule lesson. I recommend this place.
