Waitlist FAQ

F.A.Q on the waitlist

How does the waitlist work?

The process is simple: Once you are registered with British Swim School, all you need to do is look at the class calendar and select the waitlist class to be added to the student’s account. You can do it using the student/family portal or the mobile app; both show live and current availability of all our classes.

We recommend a maximum of 2 waitlist classes per student to assure fast turnaround and availability.

Once a spot becomes available, we will reach out to you via text and email and you will have 24H to accept the opening by responding back to the email; if we do not receive an answer within 24H, the student will be removed from that waitlisted class.

Do I have to pay to be on the waitlist?

No! You will not be charged for placing a student on the waitlist ; however, in order to be able to put a student on the waitlist, you will need to register.

Once a spot on a waitlist becomes available and you have agree to take it, your card on file will be charged as soon as we enroll the student to that class.

Once a class becomes available, is it immediately available?

When we inform you that a class becomes available, it means that there is a spot in that class that is becoming available ; it can be available the same week we notify you or the following week, depending on when the spot becomes available (for example, it can become available only the following week from the day of the notification if a student has placed a make up on that spot for the coming week or if a student is graduating from that class and dropping the following week or later on. We will enroll you for the first available date for that open spot

Once a class becomes available, can I decide to enroll at a future date?

You will need to enroll for the first class within the 2 weeks from the notification date ; you will not be able to do a future enrollment on that open spot past 2 weeks ; if you cannot enroll within those 2 weeks, we will keep you on the waitlist for the next opening and will be offering this spot to the next student on the waitlist.

What if the student is already enrolled in one class and I want to swap the new class with the current class?

In the email answer back to us, you will indicate that you want to swap the new class with the existing class ; it is important for you to specify it in your answer or we will be unable to process the changes.

What if the student is already enrolled in 3 classes or more and I want to swap the new available class with one of  the current enrolled classes?

In the email answer back to us, you will indicate that you want to swap the new class with the specific class you no longer want in your schedule ; it is important for you to specify it in your answer or we will be unable to process the changes.

What happens if I have 2 siblings on the waitlist for the same class?

When you place a student on the waitlist, you have the option to put a note that you want the 2 students to enroll together. When 2 spots open simultaneously for that class, we will reach out to you to enroll ; If there is only one spot opening, we will reach out to the next student on the waitlist who needs to be enrolled by him/herself.

What happens if I have 3 siblings or more on the waitlist for the same class?

In this case, we highly recommend that you enroll the students one at the time as a spot becomes available due to the small size of the class ; it is close to impossible to have 3 or more spots becoming available at the same time for one specific class.

What if I place a student in a waitlist for a class that does not match his/her class level?

In this case, that waitlist will be removed from the system ; we also recommend that you do not put the student in a waitlist that does not match the current class level of the student: it is contra-productive and just slows down the waitlist process.

How long does it take to move from the waitlist to a scheduled class?

As students move at their own pace in the learning path, it is not predictable when a spot will open in a specific class ; a spot can open because a student graduates to the next level or a student transfers to another location. In this case, we cannot give you a timeline on when a spot will open up.

What happens if I do not get back to BSS within 24H?

After 24h, we will remove the student from this waitlisted class and will offer the spot to the next student on the waitlist

Do I need to register to be on the waitlist?
