Our Cancellation Policy in a Few Words

Hello!

This is a friendly reminder of our cancellation policy process.

We do understand that you may not remember all the details of our terms and conditions to which you have agreed and signed on, upon your enrollment to our school (you can always refer to it in your email inbox where you have received a copy of our full agreement on the day of your enrollment);  we want to give you all clarity on our straightforward cancellation policy in our school for a smooth headache free process in mind.

Our cancellation notice:

If you wish to cancel, all you need to do is to submit an electronic cancellation notice using the online form on the British Swim School Mobile app. This form is available 24/7 on your phone or mobile device located on the app homepage “Cancel account” tile.

You may have many reasons for you to decide to cancel your classes with us and truly understand that you have to make the hard decision, should you have to terminate your membership with us and we will always be sorry to see you go!

The core of our philosophy is the safety of a child: when you take the decision to drop a student half way through their safety training, it should be the same reasoning for you as to decide to unbuckle your child while driving on the highway.

Aiming at the big picture, priority should always be to keep the child safe and do everything possible to reach your goal of the student becoming safe in a body of water.

Whether you are moving out of town, you have some events that life brings at you or for any other reasons it might be, we sure hope that you are considering the safety of your child before making this decision.

This said, once your decision is made, all we require is for you to submit a cancellation notice via the mobile app, plain and simple.

Please note that, as per our terms and conditions, we do not accept any cancellation in person, via a phone call, voicemail, email or text ; in order to process a cancellation, you will need to complete the online form via our mobile app (Tile “Cancel Account on the homepage of the mobile app) ; our electronic form will track and timestamp your request and will set the system to process your request in a timely manner.

Upon reception of your electronic cancellation notice via the mobile app online form, you will receive a written confirmation of your cancellation within 2 business days of the reception of your notice, sent to your email on file with us.

A few important reminders about our cancellation policy:

  • Once we receive your electronic notice of cancellation, we will drop all students in the account after their last class for the billed month unless you request specifically in your notice of cancellation to be dropped at a future specific date.
  • For example: If you cancel on the 10th of the month, you will remain enrolled until the day of your last class for this billed month. Student will be dropped from the program the day after his last class for that month. All unused make-ups will expire on the same drop date. You will no longer receive a bill from us after your drop date unless you decide to re-enroll. Example would be on May 10, you send us a cancellation notice for your Wednesday class. We will process your cancellation in 2 business days and will confirm your drop date set for the day after your last Wednesday class in May.
  • Our bill cycle starts on the 22nd of each month for the upcoming month of tuition. If you send your electronic notice of cancellation after the 21st of the current month, your account will already be billed for the upcoming month of tuition and therefore fully due; your drop date will be after the last class of your billed month (which would be the upcoming month for which you have already been billed). Example would be on May 22, you send us a cancellation notice for your Wednesday class. At that date, you are already billed for the June tuition. We will process your cancellation in 2 business days and will confirm your drop date set for the day after your last Wednesday class in June as our cancellation program drops students at the end of the billed month, which in this case is the end of June.
  • In order to avoid being dropped at the end of the upcoming month after your last class, you must submit your cancellation notice on or before the 21st of the current month.
  • We do not accept cancellation verbally in person, via a phone call or a voicemail, by email or text; the only accepted form of cancellation is through our online form located in the main menu of our mobile app and processed electronically.
  • You can schedule your remaining makeup classes only when you are enrolled in a scheduled class ; therefore, you will need to make sure to schedule your makeup class before your last day of school (known as the drop date) ; missed classes are not refundable ; make up classes have no monetary value nor can be substituted for scheduled classes. All remaining unused make-up classes will expire at the set expiration dates. Expired make-ups classes will not be reinstated.
  • But most importantly: If you are planning to leave the program before your child is water-safe, we urge you to find another swim school as soon as you can to ensure your child attains the necessary survival skills. Our greatest fear is to hear of a drowning that involves one of our former students who we were not able to make water-safe. You will understand it’s not in our nature to give up on anyone easily – we are committed to the safety of our children!

2/ Taking a break or vacation:

Sometimes, you feel that you need to take a break or a vacation but it is primary as important to keep in mind that you should do all that’s possible not to break the cycle of your child’s training to become safe in the water. This is also the same reason we generate makeup classes for each class missed so you can reschedule the class missed without disrupting the momentum in the student’s training.

If it is only a temporary leave of absence (Vacation time, taking a break, short medical…), you can schedule advanced notice of absences which will generate automatic make-ups that you can reschedule before and after your short trip so the student does not lose retention on their learning skills.

If you have to leave for a short medical leave, we recommend you do the same along with sending us a doctor’s note for our records.

If your medical leave is for a period more than a month, we recommend you to cancel your account to avoid future billing (you will need to send us a cancellation notice using the mobile app) while you are unable to take classes and send us a doctor’s note for our records. Once you are ready, you can re-enroll with us and continue classes when you have left. If we have received your doctor’s note prior to your cancellation, we will be able to waive your re-enrollment fee upon your return.
