Xavi’s aquatics background began with swimming in his grandparents’ pool. He became a lifeguard two years ago, where he got to watch his seniors teach lessons while he watched the pool. A year ago he became a certified instructor as well as swim coach for the Givens Marlins. He is known for being the youngest instructor at BSS. Xavi says that being able to swim is one of the most important things in his weekly routine, and he hopes to share the comfort and joy he receives from it to others. His work with kids includes his experience with his younger siblings, who have taught him how to encourage learning and relate to various age groups.
In his free time, Xavi likes to design and build systems, including computer programming or CAD design. He also likes to keep up with shows and play his euphonium. In the future, Xavi sees himself running his own business and living on the coast. One day, he’ll cross hiking El Camino de Santiago off his bucket list.
