British Swim School is the Leading Swim Lesson Provider in the US and Canada
British Swim School is the premier survival and stroke development swimming lessons provider, utilizing highly-trained swim instructors to teach swim lessons that focus on safety, fun and skill development across all age and ability levels. Our curriculum-based program is focused on achieving prescribed goals before advancing to the next level in the program, offering lessons to infants (as young as 3 months), toddlers, children, teens and adults.
Started by Rita Goldberg in 1981, British Swim School was founded on the belief that every child should learn water safety and survival skills. Currently operating in over 550 pools and in 29 states across the U.S. and Canada, British Swim School teaches over 17,000 lessons per week.
In 2019, British Swim School was acquired by experienced multi-brand franchising company Buzz Franchise Brands, parent company of Pool Scouts, Home Clean Heroes, Wonderly Lights and formerly Mosquito Joe, which means additional support from a proven management team, complementing our experienced staff and extremely engaged system of franchise owners.
Our Commitment to You
Without our pool partners, we have no pools! Building deep relationships with our pool partners is one of the cornerstones of our business and is beneficial for both sides: you create an additional revenue stream for your facility and we are able to operate out of a well-maintained pool. As we know with any partnership, it’s important for both partners to have clear expectations about what the other will bring to the table (or pool).
British Swim School offers comprehensive insurance coverage with a $2M single occurrence maximum and full additional insured commitment to our pool partners, which means no risk to you! In your facility, we maintain a limited footprint both in terms of space and time, typically starting at 12-15 hours per week. We know how important relationships and open communication are so there is always easy accessibility to the local franchise owner/operator or to our corporate team.
In return from you, we ask for a well-maintained pool (clean, warm, chemically balanced) along with space for a small poolside cabinet and table that would only be visible during British Swim School operating hours.

Hear from Our Pool Partners
“We really enjoy having British Swim School in our location, because of the benefits they bring, helping us to give back to the community – something that is important to Hilton. We were particularly interested to start the program, as it’s a good source of additional revenue for us at the times when our pool would otherwise be closed. British Swim School is able to use the pool’s non-peak times and so causes no problems with our guests. Guests also seem to like seeing that we’re helping out the local kids – it reinforces our community spirit to many of them. The relationship- building aspect of this partnership with locals also helps boost our profile and keeps us front of mind for any of their local functions and other hospitality needs throughout the year.”

“Our experience with British Swim School has been a very pleasant one. They treat and respect the facility as their own and take pride in helping to make sure that it looks nice. The lesson participants have been a nice addition as well; our residents enjoy seeing the children starting their lessons and swimming. The British Swim School programs have also helped us to utilize some of the downtime that we had at the pools. The relationship has truly been positive!”
