British Swim School St. Louis works every day to teach water survival skills and drowning prevention skills. The small classes are taught in a nurturing and fun way by trained instructors who love working with kids. Children are initially taught safe entry and safe exit, floating on their backs and rolling over to float on their backs. As they progress they learn the swimming strokes and how to tread water. Children move from one level to the next level at their own pace as they learn skills.

We at British Swim School St. Louis are strongly committed to keeping each and every child (as well as adults) water safe. Working together we can all accomplish the goal of not one more drowning. As summer approaches, let’s remember the following ways to keep kids SAFE

  • S – Swim lessons
    • Swim lessons are associated with an 88% reduction in drowning.
  • A – Adult attention
    • 100% focus – 100% of the time.
    • Get one of the British Swim School Water Watcher badges and lanyards and use it.
  • F – Flotation
    • Coast Guard certified life vests for nonswimmers, novice swimmers and when boating.
  • E – Enclosures
    • Fences, gates (and locks on doors) to prevent unsupervised access to pools.
