Hello everyone, my name is Travis. I am the Aquatics Director for the North Central DFW area of the British Swim School. I am from a small town called Nederland in South East Texas. There I lived, worked, and went to school. I graduated in 2014 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics. After graduation I moved up to the DFW area where I worked within my field of study for a couple years, but I always felt like there was something missing….water!
I have been in and around the water since I started swimming lessons at 6 years old! Not long after I completed swim lesson I join Spindletop Swimming team, where I competed from 7 to 19 years old. At the age of 15 I got certified in Lifeguarding and got my first summer job lifeguarding at the City of Nederland pool, where I spent the next 4 summers working. I also taught swim lesson for a local swim school for 2 summers, and went back to lifeguarding years later for the City of Orange, Texas. At 21 I was offered a position to be an assistant coach for the swim team I grew up on. Soon I was the head coach and was there until I moved up here.
I joined the British Swim School team in 2016. One thing I absolutely love about the British Swim School is the focus on water safety! With my years of lifeguarding, water safety is always a top priority around any body of water. I am excited to bring my knowledge and skills to the British Swim School and your little swimmer!
