Nashville Metro Schools Spring Break is Right Around the Corner

This school year is flying by! Spring Break will be here before you know it. Nashville Metro Schools Spring Break starts Monday, March 16.

Whether your family is staying in town or traveling, this is the perfect time to start swim lessons.

Staying home?

You never know what a week off school in Nashville may bring! Middle Tennessee weather is unpredictable. The neighborhood pool may open early if it’s warm. If it’s still chilly, a friend may have their hot tub running. Maybe you’ll venture to a Tennessee state park – where many have open, and even flowing, water.

Enroll in swim lessons at British Swim School of Nashville South now so your spring breakers are ready for whatever adventures Nashville brings your way.

Traveling?

Loading up the car for a roadie or to head to Nashville’s favorite BNA? If you’re off to the beach, lake house, a cruise or even land-locked grandma’s house, be aware of where you may come across water. Hotels or your family’s neighborhood may have a pool or spa.

Even if your only water activity is at a lifeguard-watched water park, your swimmers should know how to save themselves should they slip into the deep end. While lifeguards are a great layer of protection, you should not rely on them solely to keep your family safe.

Will your family be on a boat? No matter how fast or slow moving, all participants should wear a lifejacket. Be sure to talk to your kids about why a lifejacket is important and the fact that when it is off, they are not safe. Lifejackets, floaties and puddle jumpers give children a false sense of security, unfortunately leading many to believe they can still swim even when the floating assistant is off.

Don’t want to worry so much?

At British Swim School of Nashville South we teach water acclimation, water survival and safety, and stroke development. We can start a new student as young as three-months and have classes for all ages, including adults! Our indoor, heated pool in Nashville is open year-round for lessons. Don’t see a time that fits your schedule? Call us at 615-212-2010 to see how we can help. We also have a pool in Franklin, if that location would be better for your family.

If your swimmer is under age 3, call 615-212-2010 to inquire about our water acclimation class called Tadpole. If over age 3, ask about Starfish. Our fun swim instructors will have your tot making positive associations with water and looking forward to trips to the pool. Once confident and comfortable, we’ll graduate your little fish to Swimboree for water survival and safety.

Is your swimmer comfortable going all the way under water? Look for Minnow classes to start working on water survival and safety right away. We’ll teach your swimmer how to get in and out of the pool safely without a ladder, float on their back, stay calm to call for help, and maintain energy while getting to safety. After they graduate, these skills are fine-tuned in Turtle 1, where they also start to learn the basics of stroke development.
