Water Acclimation and Safety for Children

We approach our swimming classes for children in a fun, engaged, and family-oriented way! We offer classes for kids as early as 3 months of age. We call our initial program the Tadpole program. From ages 3 months to 36 months, we focus on water acclimation.

This is a “mommy and me”-style class, where you will be able to assist your child in the water. As they are introduced to the water for the first time, you can be there to support them and help them combat fear. Be prepared for lots of singing, splashing, and FUN! The main goals of this program are assisted back floating, full gentle submersion, and gaining comfort with independent water exploration.

We understand that children, especially those in their early years, need a lot of one-on-one interaction and attention. That’s why we keep our classes small in size. Our Tadpole classes average about 6 kids per class, allowing our instructors to work with each child in turn.

As your child grows and gains confidence in the water, they are able to move up through our more advanced classes. We have special programs for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age kids. Get your child started early so they can enjoy the water safely!
