Welcome to British Swim School
at BMCC

We are excited to invite members of the lower Manhattan community to experience the newly renovated, state-of-the-art swimming pool at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), located at 77 Harrison St, New York NY 10013.

This impressive 220,000-gallon pool has undergone an extensive renovation and is now open for swim lessons through British Swim School. We are thrilled to offer swim classes to the BMCC community as well as local residents.

Pool Features:

Six competition lanes, each 6 feet wide and 25 yards long, with a depth of 4 feet
Year-round swim lessons for all ages and skill levels.

Things to Know Before You Register:

Membership Enrollment: Enrollment leads to an ongoing membership with auto-renewal every month; session-based classes are not offered.
Cancellation Policy: Membership continues with auto-billing until you provide a 30-day notice via email to cancel.
Start Date: After enrollment, you’ll receive a welcome email confirming your start date and details.
Mobile App: We encourage downloading our mobile app to manage your account, book classes, review policies, and more.
Trial Classes: Please note, we do not offer trial classes.
Tuition: Monthly tuition is charged automatically via credit card on the 25th of each month for the following month. An extra charge applies for months with 5 weeks.
First Tuition Payment: Tuition will be pro-rated for the current month.
Registration Fee: A one-time registration fee of $49 ($60 per family) will be added to your first tuition payment, which includes a welcome gift: a bag and swim cap.
Late Enrollment: If you enroll after the 22nd of the month, next month’s tuition will be included.
Class Ratio: Our class ratio is 4:1, except for Tadpole and Stroke development classes.
Waitlist: Joining the waitlist is free, but a credit card is required to hold your spot. You will be contacted when a spot opens, and a response is needed within 24 hours.
Makeups: Makeup classes can be booked as long as you remain enrolled. Makeups expire after your termination date.
Health & Safety: All eligible staff members are vaccinated.

We know a lot of families choose to travel during the summertime but do not want to lose their spot in class. If you are one of those families we’d like to offer you the option of freezing your account for 90 days. During the 90-day period of your choosing, you will not be charged. We do have a $49 disclaimer that states you will be charged if the break is longer than 90 days. Once your freeze is over you’ll be able to dive right back into lessons with us! Fee Details

2X THE CLASSES = 3X THE RESULTS! Students who take swim lessons twice per week reach their goals three times faster. Our *Best Value* pricing is based on students who enroll in twice-weekly classes or when two (or more) members of your immediate family take lessons with us.
All classes are 30-minutes long.
Enrollment is ongoing and you can begin your lessons immediately, based on availability of classes. All Water Safety classes are conducted in small groups (4:1 student/instructor ratio max). Stroke Development classes for more experienced swimmers and tadpole level where parents are hands-on have a 6:1 student/instructor ratio max.
ONE-TIME MEMBERSHIP FEE: $49 per student | $60 per family
MAKE-UPS:
- Subject to current enrollment only
- Eligible for makeup class as long as the student is enrolled in the program
- Not recommended same day as regular class
- Submit absence 24 hr in advance to be eligible for a makeup
PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS: Private and Semi-Private lessons are available upon request and subject to availability. Please call our office for more information.

PAYMENT:
- The first month is paid upon enrollment on a pro-rated basis.
- As payment we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Amex.
- Your card will be charged automatically around the 25th of each month for the following month’s lessons. For student enrollments on or after the 20^th of a given month, we will charge the following month tuition at the time of enrollment. You will be auto-enrolled for the following month until you cancel. For cancellations, we require written notification 30 days in advance. We will not charge your card for waitlists, but require your credit card information to hold your slot.
