At the British Swim School, we pride ourselves on our water survival focus. As a result, we believe it is crucial that children experience falling into water clothed, so they know what to do if this were to ever happen.
To simulate this experience, every eight weeks, we host our “Clothing/Survival Week”. During this special week of lessons all our students are asked to wear street clothes over swimwear during their regular classes.
Being in the water fully clothed, but under the supervision of instructors, allows us to teach your child these vital water survival skills.
Your child will receive much of their usual lesson, but the instructor will also emphasize water survival, review key safety tips and simulate an emergency situation.
We really appreciate your support so that your child can participate, and so we request that you bring your child to class prepared with the clothing for their level as listed below, and worn over their swim suit.
What to bring for your class:
Tadpole/Swimboree/Seahorse/Minnow & Turtle One
Wear Cotton T-shirt, and shorts or pants (over swim diapers)
Turtle Two/Sharks One & Two
Wear Cotton T-shirt and long pants, shoes or sneakers
*Bring an extra plastic bag to put wet clothes in after the lesson
