About our Swimming Lessons in Worcester

We teach more than swimming lessons. We teach water survival.

Since 1981, our survival-first learn-to-swim program has helped thousands of families become safer around the water. We offer a variety of swim classes for children ages three months to adults. New students enter a curriculum of water acclimation, water survival, and stroke skills following an initial assessment of age and experience.

Why is British Swim School a favorite among local parents?

  • Survival-First Approach – All our swim classes emphasize water survival techniques. Why? Swimmers need to know how to survive in the water before advancing to stroke skills.
  • Goal-Oriented Program – Each class contains five clearly defined goals to achieve before advancing to the next level. Setting goals provides structure and gives students multiple opportunities for achievement.
  • Individual Attention – Our group classes take an individualized approach to learning, meaning students can advance as soon as they’ve mastered the required skills. This approach blends the benefits of group and private lessons.
  • Small Class Sizes – Our small class sizes allow the instructors to provide personalized attention in a group setting. A true win-win!
  • Year-Round Enrollment – Lessons take place in year-round indoor locations, so students can join any time and get started right away.

Meet the Team Behind British Swim School

British Swim School of Worcester is locally owned and operated by Danny Bolivar. Bolivar’s inspiration for joining British Swim School stemmed from a career in developing products for children for Discovery Kids. She also discovered a need in her community for water safety lessons and felt that British Swim School was the right fit.

“As parents of two boys ourselves, we are thrilled to contribute to reducing Massachusetts’ child drowning rates,  and are true believers of the fun and gentle approach that this franchise has towards learning how to always be safe and have fun.”

Swimming is an important life skill that everyone should learn. That’s why we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supervised environment for swimmers to build confidence and improve water safety. The benefits of swimming are endless, and it’s also a lot of fun!

“There’s a gentle approach to roll over and float and stay safe in the water,” she said. “Water is everywhere. Anyone can drown in a tub. Repetition and muscle memory will allow them to save their own lives.”
