Our pool is located within Hyde Creek Recreation Center located at 1379 Laurier Ave, Port Coquitlam BC, V3B 2B9. The pool facilities are open to our valued members. Please note that we do not offer drop-in lessons or drop-in swimming memberships. Our lessons are specifically designed for our members, who have the privilege of enjoying access to our facilities as part of their membership.

The Hyde Creek Recreation Center, located in the City of Port Coquitlam, offers a 25-meter lap pool for British Swim School’s Barracuda swim team. Positioned as a pre-competition team, the focus of the Barracuda program is to bridge the gap between swim classes and competitive swim programs. Swimmers meet twice a week for a 1-hour session to refine their strokes, build endurance, and work as a team!

Meet Coach Edward

Coach Edward Luetchford has been a part of the British Swim School of Tri-Cities-Langley since August 2022. Originally from Bowmanville, Ontario, Edward has been involved with swimming as a passion sport, and career since he was 10 years old. There he worked with the Clarington Swim Club as NCCP Level 1 Competitive Coach, and as an instructor teaching Pegasus Swimming Lessons, using the Red Cross curriculum. Previously he enjoyed volunteering as a coach of high school swim teams in his hometown. Edward strongly believes that anyone can become a swimmer, regardless of their background or their experience. He is passionate about his swimmers setting goals for themselves and working with them to achieve those personal goals. He loves to see individuals join the sport, either to learn to swim recreationally or to become high-level swimmers. In his time off the pool deck, Edward likes to study the sport of swimming to further his knowledge, and in his free time, he loves studying history and playing online video games.

Fee Details

Our pool is located within Hyde Creek Recreation Center located at 1379 Laurier Ave, Port Coquitlam BC, V3B 2B9. The pool facilities are open to our valued members. Please note that we do not offer drop-in lessons or drop-in swimming memberships. Our lessons are specifically designed for our members, who have the privilege of enjoying access to our facilities as part of their membership.
We do not use fixed sessions, so you can start your enrollment at any time to fit your schedule.
Students who are coached 2 times per week reach their goals three times faster.
All classes are 60 minutes long and conducted a minimum of two times a week.
Currently, we are offering the opportunity to attend up to three classes for the price of two.
All programs are non-transferable, and we require 30 days advance notice to withdraw from any class.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Your card will be automatically debited around the 20th of every month for the following month’s lessons.
The first month is paid upon enrollment on a pro-rated basis, as well as a one-time registration fee of $40 is due upon enrollment.
When you initially enroll, your first month’s tuition will be pro-rated based on the number of classes you will receive. If you enroll on the 15th of the month or later, you will automatically be registered for the following month as well.
