Building Confidence for Nervous Swimmers — One Family, Three Kids, Real Progress

"All 3 of our kids have been taking lessons for the last 6-9 months. They have all made significant progress in their swimming skills, gained confidence in their abilities, and they have a lot of fun. The instructors are all friendly and do well with kids even when they are nervous. Highly recommend!"

From Zero Experience to Life-Saving Swim Skills in Just 3 Months

"Our 4 YO started almost 3 months ago with no base knowledge of how to swim & he already knows how to save his life. It's very good. We would highly recommend this school :)."

Never Too Late to Learn: Adult Swim Lessons That Actually Worked

"I have tried two different swim school and nothing compares to the British School School in Delafield. I have always been comfortable in the water but needed to learn to swim because of my kids and owning a home with a pool. After 3 classes I was jumping into 14 feet of water and learning how to swim. They are amazing…."

Safety First: How Our Step-by-Step Curriculum Built Real Swim Skills

"British swim school has provided my young daughter with the confidence and knowledge needed to gain basic swim and survival skills in the water. With multiple children I love the safety first with learning to float and then once that is mastered learn the swim strokes. Each lesson provides a recap of mastered skills, work in new skills and play time which is fun but also continues new skill development."

Worth the Wait: Why We Chose British Swim School

"We were a family who was placed on a wait list for classes but we were willing to wait as this program is worth the wait! Once we were able to start we were blown away by the instructors, the program for children to advance in skill and just how well run it is! We are so incredibly happy with our experience through this program! The instructors again are just awesome with the kids and so knowledgeable! Without these instructors giving up their nights, weekends and days we wouldn't have little safe swimmers out there! Our family thanks this program for making our two girls safe swimmers!"

From Fear of Floating to Confident Swimmer in Just a Few Lessons

"My son has been around water since he was four months old. He swims under water and is not afraid, but we could not get him to float. The kindness, patience and techniques at British Swim School got him floating in a few short lessons. He looks forward to next lesson and really enjoys his instructors- and ye, he's tried other programs and he has fought me to go to the lessons- so having him ask when is going again is an amazing win!! Thank you British Swim School - St John's!!"

FAQ

Pricing varies based on how many lessons you take each week and the number of swimmers you enroll. For detailed pricing, please visit your nearest location’s webpage to find all the information you need.

Finding your level is simple. Select your nearest local pool and complete our online swim assessment. This fast tool matches the swimmer's age and experience with the ideal curriculum level. Once matched, you can view current class schedules, select a convenient day and time, and register online. If you need assistance, our team is just a phone call away.

Safety is our top priority. Every swim instructor undergoes a rigorous vetting process and completes our comprehensive, proprietary British Swim School certification program. Additionally, our instructors hold nationally recognized certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid. This ensures you and your family receive expert instruction focused on water survival skills and life-saving techniques in every single lesson.

Our curriculum is built on a goal-driven, step-by-step progression where students learn at their own pace. Each distinct swim level features five clearly defined safety and skill milestones. Instructors continuously track performance during lessons to celebrate achievements. Once a student masters the five goals of their current level, they transition seamlessly to the next class tier without waiting for a new semester to begin.

We keep our class sizes small to ensure personalized attention and maximum water safety. Our water acclimation and toddler water survival classes maintain a strict 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio. As swimmers advance into our stroke development and pre-team levels, classes maintain a 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio. This guarantees a supportive, focused environment for every swimmer

Our specialized, year-round curriculum is divided into three primary programmatic tiers: Water Acclimation (building comfort and breaking water fear), Water Survival (teaching foundational life-saving floating and breathing techniques), and Stroke Development (mastering competitive swim strokes, speed, and stamina). Within these tiers, we offer targeted programs for infants, toddlers, kids, teens, and adults, alongside specialized adaptive aquatics.

Children can begin learning vital water safety skills in our infant classes as early as 3 months old. We firmly believe it is never too soon to introduce babies to gentle water acclimation. Our programs feature no upper age limit, meaning we provide tailored classes for every milestone—whether you are looking for toddler survival skills, youth swim technique, or adult swimming lessons.
