Our Swim lessons vary depending on the class level. All children and young adult lessons are $40 per lesson. Adult Swim lessons are $52 per lesson. For our Barracuda program (pre-swim team) we use a monthly pricing structure as swimmers attend multiple lessons per week, the cost is $300 per month and is $250 if you have an active sibling in the BSS of Greater Boston program. . The non-refundable Annual Family Registration Fee is $65 and is charged upon initial enrollment and annually thereafter.
A note about our billing. All classes, except for the Barracuda program, are billed per class. Usually, you will be billed for four classes per month, but some months you may be billed for five classes because your lesson falls on a day with five lessons per month. Other months it could be three lessons because of a holiday or planned closure. Tuition for the next month is charged on the 25th of every month.
You should take the easy swim assessment on this website and then choose the location that works best for you. You will then be able to choose the best time for you and enroll immediately online. If you do not find a class that works for you, please join our waitlist, there is no cost to join the waitlist. You always can call/text/email our office with any questions.
Our instructors are highly trained, passionate professionals specializing in water safety and survival skills. Every instructor completes the comprehensive British Swim School Training Program, which includes detailed in-water coaching and online curriculum components. We prioritize safety, with training covering key safety elements and many instructors holding CPR and Lifeguard certifications. All team members benefit from continuous coaching and professional development.
Our small group lessons are designed to offer individualized support, and the ratio of students to instructors varies depending on the swim level. For our Under 3 classes, the Tadpole and Swimboree levels have a 6:1 ratio, while the Seahorse level maintains a smaller 4:1 ratio. Our classes for Over 3 students—including Starfish, Minnow, and Turtle 1—all have a 4:1 ratio. For more advanced Stroke Classes, the ratio is 6:1. Finally, our Young Adult and Adult classes have a 3:1 ratio.
Our step-by-step program focuses on water acclimation, survival skills, and stroke development. The familiar format of each lesson offers comfort and consistency as you progress through our levels, making each transition smooth and seamless. Swimmers can start as early as 3 months old—because it’s never too soon to learn water safety. There’s no age limit, so whether you’re learning as a toddler, teenager, or anywhere in between, we have a program to help you become a safer swimmer.
We are committed to tracking and celebrating every student's progress. Each program provides five clear goals, and these goals guide our lessons, ensuring instruction fits the student's unique skills and learning style. Swimmers advance through the levels at their own pace, moving up once they can consistently perform all five goals for their current level.
No, we do not offer trial lessons but you are welcome to come to the pool while we are open for lessons and see our program in action.
As a courtesy to you, we offer makeup lessons that you can schedule directly through our British Swim School app.

Once you are on the waitlist and we have an opening we will reach out to you via email and text and ask you to respond within 48 hours to take the spot. You are welcome to join more than one waitlist.
