British Swim School, established in 1981, has built a long-standing, logically progressive, and goal-oriented curriculum. We are proud to serve your community and offer our unique year-round water acclimation, water survival and learn-to-swim programs.

Our unique program is taught inside a clean, warm, and well light pool with some of the best instructors. We offer swim lessons for all ages and skill levels, from tiny beginners to advanced swimmers. Our goal is to help everyone become safe and happy in the water.

Our swim school is located inside the LA Fitness at 109 Quarry Road in Downingtown. When you get into the building, our Deck Ambassador will assist and provide directions.

We are conveniently located just off Route 30, across from Brandywine Square Shopping Center (with plenty of free parking!).

We offer swim lessons for all ages and skill levels, from tiny beginners to advanced swimmers. Our goal is to help everyone become safe and happy in the water.

Here’s what makes us special:

• Small group lessons: We keep our class sizes small so everyone gets personalized attention.

• Year-round learning: We offer lessons throughout the year in a warm, indoor pool.
• Convenient amenities: We have deck shower, changing tents, and changing tables available for little ones on the pool deck.

Things to Know Before you Register/Enroll:

• After enrollment, you will receive a confirmation email, app access, start date and more details.
• We do not have sessions. Once a student has met goals of their level, they move up automatically to the next level.
• Classes are 30 minutes. Except adults, tadpole & stroke development levels, class ratios are 1:4
• We maintain a waitlist for which a credit card is required to hold your slot.
• Enrollment leads to ongoing membership which is auto renewed monthly.
• First month’s tuition is due today and prorated based on your enrollment date.
• If you are enrolling after the 22^nd of the current month, we will charge for next month’s tuition.
• In addition to tuition fee, a one-time registration fee of $50 is charged when you sign up.
• Tuition fee is automatically debited around the 20^th of every month for the following month.
• If you are coming for your first class, please come early (10 minutes) to account for introductions, any questions, changing time, etc.

Facility-specific rules:

All rules are strictly enforced by the British Swim School LA Fitness Team.

• You must bring your own towel.
• No eating is allowed on the pool deck or in restrooms
• You will not have access to the hot tub and locker rooms
• Children less than 3 years old and/or who are not potty trained must wear two (2) diapers including a disposal “swim diaper” and re-usable diaper on top of the swim diaper.
• This is not a drop off lesson

Make-Ups

Ever miss a lesson because you were running late? Or your little one was sick? Don’t worry! We have two options for you

Makeup Lesson:

• Subject to current enrollment, we offer unlimited make-up lessons for all missed classes that have been reported to the office ahead of time (6-hour advance notice).
• Makeup lessons can be scheduled only for active students.
• Makeup lessons are swim level specific.
• We cannot guarantee a specific instructor for make-up lesson.  Once make-ups are arranged, they cannot be rescheduled.
• From the day of missed class, you have 45 days to schedule a makeup lesson.
• Please note due to scheduling demands, we only book make-up lessons within 7 days prior to the lesson time.
• Semi-private and private class makeups may be scheduled in group classes.
• Please note, due to variations in demand for certain classes we do reserve the right to cancel / change certain class times or instructors as deemed necessary
• Makeups have no monetary value and can’t be used as payment for regular classes.

 Standby Lesson: 

Take a standby lesson when you come for your next scheduled lesson. Check with our deck ambassador for availability for a lesson of the same level that follows your little one’s lesson. If there is space, you are welcome to stay and take your make-up lesson then. These make-up lessons are arranged on-site and offered same day only. As such, they cannot be scheduled through the office.
