Our Story: Your Introduction to British Swim School
British Swim School of Central Maryland is locally owned and operated by Bonnie Alcid, who first began teaching swimming lessons for the city of Rockville over 20 years ago. Aclid enjoyed the experience so much, she decided to dive into swim school ownership for herself.
“The most rewarding part of our job is seeing a little swimmer master a skill that they had been struggling with,” said Alcid. “The joy on their face is so precious. Even seeing small weekly progression is rewarding!”
Swimming is an important life skill that everyone should learn. That’s why we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supervised environment for swimmers to build confidence and improve water safety. The benefits of swimming are endless, and it’s also a lot of fun!
“I’ve taught swimming lessons since I was 14 years old in different programs and areas of the country,” said Alcid. “What makes British Swim School unique is how we teach students to react (not panic) if they fall or jump into the water.
