How We Can Help Your Child Learn To Swim in Brooklyn

Swimming is the perfect activity to get your whole family active. For younger kids, they often want to imitate what Mom, Dad, and older siblings are doing. For older kids, it’s a great way to put down the screen and move around. Whether your child wants to learn to swim or just stay active, British Swim School Brooklyn Queens has classes for them.

Helping Kids Learn To Swim At Every Age

If your child doesn’t know how to swim yet, we can help! Our lessons are perfect for kids from Greenpoint, Long Island City, Park Slope, Queens, Williamsburg, and Brooklyn. With frequent classes, repetition, and one-on-one support from their instructor, we can help them learn to swim, float, and have fun in the pool. It’s never too early or too late to build a lifelong love of the water.

In Brooklyn, our classes start for kids as young as three months. These early lessons acclimate your youngest one to the water with minimal fears, panic, or tears. For toddlers and infants, parents get the chance to participate, too, so you’ll play a part in your child’s first introduction to the pool.

For older children, our classes have four to six participants, so your child will get close attention from their instructor. If you can, we always recommend bringing your child for more than one weekly class, as this can help them learn to swim at a much faster rate. This more frequent schedule can really help build up your child’s discipline, confidence, and enthusiasm for the water.

Our Safety-Based Approach To Swimming in Brooklyn

Over the course of their swim classes with British Swim School Brooklyn Queens, your child can learn to swim the length of our indoor pool, practicing different strokes and honing their skills. But before we begin teaching swim strokes, we start kids off with the back float:

  • To help them feel at ease. For children who feel apprehensive about going into the water, learning the back float can help them relax in the pool more easily.
  • To give them a rest. For new swimmers, it’s easy to suddenly feel tired or overexerted while in the water. Floating gives them a chance to take it easy, take a break, or ask for help.

We make it easy, fun, and safe for your child to learn to swim. Contact British Swim School Brooklyn Queens at (718) 576-1870, or browse our class schedule online today.
