Swimming is an important life skill, and we are here to help you or your child level up in life!

British Swim School is opening its 1st location in Pickering, inside the Amica Pickering Retirement Residence. Please use this Google Maps link to arrive at the entrance to our pool.

The location is convenient, and the indoor pool is heated to make swimming enjoyable even in winter!

Our highly trained and certified instructors make swimming safe, easy, and fun, through a unique and gentle teaching style. We build strong foundational skills in swimming and emphasize water acclimation, water survival, and swim skills to ensure our students gain confidence and trust in their own abilities in the pool.

We teach everyone – all ages, all abilities, and all skill levels from beginners (as young as 3-month-old babies) to advanced swimmers. We conduct classes in small groups. Group Lessons have a 4:1 Student-to-Teacher Ratio, (4:1 for Parent/Baby classes). To find the most appropriate swim lessons at this location, click on “Take the Quiz” below.

Things To Know Before You Register:

Enrolling leads to an ongoing membership tuition. We do not have sessions.
Once a student has met the goals of their level they will move up automatically to their new level.
This membership will be auto-renewed every month.
You remain enrolled with auto-billing until you give 30 days notice.
Annual Membership Fee: A one-time annual fee of $50.00/family is in addition to your monthly tuition, and is charged when you sign up. This includes a student “Welcome Pack”, with colourful British Swim School swimming bag and swimming cap.
Waitlist: No charge but a credit card is required to hold your slot.

Fee Details

2X THE CLASSES = 3X THE RESULTS! Our experience over 35 years has shown that children who take swim lessons 2 times per week (or more) reach their goals 3 times faster.
We do not use fixed sessions, so you can start your enrollment at any time to fit your schedule. Students can move up to the next level as soon as they are ready!
All classes are 30 minutes long.
All survival classes, including adults, are conducted in small groups (4:1 student/instructor ratio max, Tadpole and Stroke Development classes 6:1 student/instructor ratio max).
All programs are non-transferable, and we require 30 days advance notice to withdraw from any class.

Annual Membership Fee: $50 + HST per family.
Private and Semi-Private lessons are available upon request and subject to availability. Please reach out to use for more details at (647) 255-6698.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Your card will be automatically debited around the 20th of every month for the following month’s lessons.
When you initially enroll, your first month’s tuition will be pro-rated based on the number of classes you will receive. If you enroll on the 15th of the month or later, you will automatically be registered for the following month as well.
