Finding the right swim instructor can make all the difference in your child’s confidence, safety, and long-term success in the water. At British Swim School of Montgomery County, our team is filled with patient, passionate instructors who love helping students progress at their own pace.

Today, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on four of our fantastic instructors—each bringing their own style, strengths, and stories to our pools in Pottstown, PA, and Collegeville, PA.

Instructor Cecelia: Building Trust, Confidence, and Courage

Her Journey

Instructor Cecelia has been teaching for two years, and her calm, encouraging approach makes her a favorite among new or hesitant swimmers.

Favorite Moment With a Student

She shared how meaningful it was to help a young swimmer who had been fearful of the water finally make the brave leap to jump in independently. After months of trust-building, that moment was a breakthrough worth celebrating.

Skills She Loves to Teach

Her favorite skill to teach is side breathing, because seeing a child master the coordination of a proper side breath is “incredibly fulfilling.”

Fun Facts

  • Sea creature she’d be: A shark—because she says she wouldn’t want to get eaten!
  • Hobby outside the pool: Reading.

Instructor Peyton: Encouraging Progress, One Lesson at a Time

Her Journey

Instructor Peyton has been teaching for nearly a year, and she loves helping swimmers overcome fears and build confidence.

Favorite Moment With a Student

One of her favorite memories is when a student who started a lesson in tears returned the following week ready to complete two new skill sets—a huge, confidence-boosting improvement.

Skills She Loves to Teach

Her favorite skill to teach is the butterfly stroke, her personal favorite and one she finds the most fun to share with her stroke development students.

Fun Facts

  • Sea creature she’d be: A mermaid—for the beautiful, colorful hair!
  • Hobby outside the pool: Going for walks and enjoying fresh air.

Instructor Jack: Helping Young Swimmers Grow Through Every Stage

His Journey

Over the past seven months with our team, Instructor Jack has brought enthusiasm and creativity to every lesson.

Favorite Moment With a Student

He recalls working with a Minnow who was regressing—struggling with floating and jumping. Through patience and consistency, Jack helped her regain her confidence until she was floating and jumping independently again. A wonderful win for perseverance!

Skills He Loves to Teach

Jack’s favorite skill to teach is backstroke, which he believes is perfect for new Turtle 1 swimmers but also offers depth and challenge for more advanced students. He knows the stroke inside and out—making him a great guide for kids moving up through the program.

Fun Facts

  • Sea creature he’d be: A manta ray—because they’re cool and majestic.
  • Hobbies outside the pool: Developing tabletop board games and playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Instructor Austin: Inspiring Students Through Patience and Progress

His Journey

Instructor Austin has been teaching for nearly 2 years, bringing a fun, energetic presence to each lesson.

Favorite Moment With a Student

His most memorable moment came after returning from college: a student who had refused to jump into the water for months finally took the leap during that first lesson back. A powerful reminder of how strong relationships help swimmers grow.

Skills He Loves to Teach

Austin’s top skill to teach is torpedoes, because kids look “super cool” when they do them. A close second? Breaststroke, his favorite stroke.

Fun Facts

  • Sea creature he’d be: A dolphin or a crab—he loves their intelligence (and the crab’s shell!).
  • Hobby outside the pool: Playing percussion and performing music.
