Waves, even small ones can be unpredictable and powerful.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pay attention to the beach warning flags<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Flags will show the strength of the waves and currents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Find a lifeguard tower and set up shop near<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Tell our children to immediately go there if lost; lifeguard can also tell you the safest place to swim and will be near in the event of an emergency<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set limits for your children<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Make sure they know not to go in deep into the ocean.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t rely on flotation devices<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 yes, they are fun, but they are not substitutes for children knowing how to swim on their own. Avoid patches of plants.
