To further draw attention to the importance of teaching children to swim as a key component in the prevention of drowning, the franchised swim school in Orlando supported this initiative as a host.<\/p>\n<p>The ninth annual World\u2019s Largest Swimming Lesson, created by the World Waterpark Association in 2010, is a global event supported by aquatic facilities, waterparks, pools, swim schools, and YMCAs, among others, and serves as a platform to build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim. Since inception, more than 236,000 children and adults have participated in World\u2019s Largest Swimming Lesson events, which holds the current Guinness World Record\u2122 for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson conducted at multiple venues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>British Swim School<\/strong>\u00a0in Orlando contributed to the event by building awareness of and driving participation to the event, along with acting as a host site. According to the National Safety Council, more than 80 percent of drownings occur in residential pools or spas, which further enforces the need for parental supervision as a number one safety measure.
