That\u2019s why at British Swim School Raleigh, we believe it\u2019s critical for kids of all ages to learn water safety techniques and skills. Our swimming lessons integrate water safety and survival skills into every session with fun and engaging games kids love, and are available throughout the Raleigh area, including the communities of Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Morrisville, and the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To keep children safe in and around the water, follow these important safety tips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Ignore your phone and any other distraction for that matter.<\/strong><br \/>\nChildren can drown in mere seconds, so every moment your eyes are not on your child is potentially dangerous.<\/li>\n<li><strong>At parties or gatherings, assign a \u201cWater Watcher\u201d, or better yet, hire a lifeguard.<\/strong><br \/>\nHaving multiple sets of parents standing nearby while kids are in a pool doesn\u2019t matter if they\u2019re distracted by talking to other parents. In crowds or gatherings, assign a parent, or \u201cWater Watcher\u201d that is responsible for providing undistracted supervision, and rotate the responsibility. Hiring a lifeguard is another great option.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Teach children rules about water safety.<\/strong><br \/>\nWith so many opportunities for water play in the Raleigh area, it\u2019s imperative that kids follow basic safety rules, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No running near the pool<\/li>\n<li>No pushing other people in<\/li>\n<li>No diving in the shallow end<\/li>\n<li>No pulling other kids under the water<\/li>\n<li>Never swim without supervision<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be prepared for an emergency.<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen emergencies happen, every second counts.
