If your child has never taken swim lessons before, you likely have a lot of questions. At\u00a0British Swim School Milwaukee South and Western Suburbs, we certainly understand that. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve put together a list of some of the common questions we get from parents throughout Waukesha, WI about our swimming classes.<\/p>\n

  1. At what age should I start my child in swimming classes?\u00a0<\/strong>
    \nAt\u00a0British Swim School Milwaukee South and Western Suburbs, we believe that getting children into the water as early as possible is best. We begin lessons as young as three months old and find this helps kids become more comfortable in the water. For your convenience, we\u00a0also offer swimming classes at five different locations throughout Waukesha, Milwaukee, Greenfield, and Hales Corners, each with heated, indoor pools.<\/li>\n
  2. Who will teach my child?<\/strong>
    \nIt\u2019s important that you\u2019re comfortable with the instructor\u00a0teaching your child. At British Swim School Milwaukee South and Western Suburbs, our instructors are thoroughly trained, and\u00a0hold CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding certifications. Beyond that, they\u2019re fun, energetic and will move at your child\u2019s pace, never forcing them.<\/li>\n
  3. What if my child cries during lessons?<\/strong>
    \nIt\u2019s true that some children are afraid of the water and may be resistant at first. For them, it\u2019s really about a fear of the unknown. But when you have a patient, gentle and experienced instructor \u2013 like those at British Swim School Milwaukee South and Western Suburbs \u2013 they know many different\u00a0techniques that can ease your child\u2019s fears and give them the confidence boost they need.<\/li>\n
  4. What will they learn in swim class?<\/strong>
    \nIt depends on your child\u2019s age and swimming abilities. At all of our locations throughout the Waukesha\u00a0and\u00a0Milwaukee area, our swimming classes put a strong emphasis on water survival and safety skills. Beyond that, the littlest swimmers learn skills such as back floating and gentle submersion, while older students learn to glide independently, proper stroke technique, and how to prepare for swim team competition.<\/li>\n
  5. What is expected of me, as a parent?<\/strong>
    \nAs a parent, you\u2019re expected to bring your child to class on time and thoroughly prepared. Depending on your child\u2019s age, you may have to get into the water with them, or sit alongside the pool, actively participating there. Other than that, we ask that you reinforce the rules we\u2019re teaching your child regarding safe swimming \u2013 and, of course, to have fun.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
