A few of the safety measures being implemented to address the health and safety concerns presented by COVID-19 include:
— Additional cleaning procedures in collaboration with pool partners
— Daily health check-ins with all staff, swimmers and families
— Asking children to arrive with their swimsuits on to reduce touchpoints
— Touch-free check in process with the Deck Ambassador
— Staggering class times to allow for additional cleaning and sanitization
— Limiting the equipment used in our instruction

What’s so special about British Swim School? Here’s what sets us apart:
✅ SAFETY is our top priority. We teach our students critical SURVIVAL SKILLS that will help keep them safe in the event of an accident. Drowning is the number one cause of death for children 1-4 years old (above car accidents!), but lessons can reduce that risk by up to 88%.
✅ British Swim School lessons are GOAL-ORIENTED and are designed to allow students to advance individually AT THEIR OWN PACE. Master your 5 goals, and you will graduate to the next level.
✅ Our instructors are HIGHLY TRAINED in our unique, comprehensive programs. And we don’t hire high school swimmers to teach your children. We hire talented adults who understand that being a great instructor takes more than just knowing the strokes, it takes building a real connection with every student and adapting to meet their individual needs.
✅ We teach WITHOUT FLOATIES, because they give children a false sense of safety and do not prepare them for real-life emergencies. We only use them for playtime, never for skill development.
✅ Students learn better in SMALL GROUPS: that’s why British Swim School’s survival classes are limited to 4 students. Students get the benefit of watching each other while giving our instructors the flexibility to focus on each student’s individual needs.
✅ Our water-survival lessons work for students of ALL AGES. We start as early as 3 months to make sure your little one is ready before they can crawl or walk to the pool. But it is never too late for older children or adults to learn the skills that will give them confidence around the water.
✅ Our COHESIVE PROGRAM builds on itself at every level. The survival skills we teach our youngest beginners become the foundation for proper swimming form and technique as they advance, with no wasted skills such as doggy paddle or bobbing that must be untaught later.
✅ We are the only school that runs SURVIVAL WEEK several times per year. During survival week, we teach children in their clothes because real-life accidents often happen when children aren’t expected to be in the pool. It’s important that they know what that feels like in case an accident happens. During Survival Week, we also teach practical, age-appropriate lessons about what children can do in a water emergency.
✅ We offer FLEXIBLE MAKEUPS in real classes because we know that life happens. We want to make sure that your child continues to make progress even if you can’t attend your regular class.
✅ No one has more expertise. British Swim School lessons are based on 40 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE. We have taught hundreds of thousands of students and currently teach more than 17,000 lessons per week nationwide - and we have seen it all. Every child is different, and our program is purposely designed to help any student no matter the age or ability.

Jessica is the Best!
My son started swim lessons with the British Swim School in August of 2017. I took him out during the winter months but recently re-enrolled him. Jessica is his swim coach and we love her so much. Her technique with the children is amazing and my son is so comfortable with her. She is very gentle with them but still achieve our goals as parents for our children to know survival skills and to feel comfortable in the water. Before registering with British Swim School he went to the Y for swim lessons and it was a waste of my money. I don’t feel that way any longer. He shy’s up while at practice but when we leave and go to our pool he is like a little fish. Thank you all so much and an even bigger THANKS to Jessica…YOU ROCK! (Sandy Springs)Shae McKenzie
We saw significant improvement in her confidence
Our daughter has taken lessons here for just under one year. From the start, we saw significant improvement in her confidence in the water. As the lessons progressed, we were amazed at how quickly the instructors were able to assist her in developing her skills with each stroke. Each of the instructors that have worked with our daughter have been patient beyond belief and absolute experts in getting her to believe in herself in the water. We couldn’t be more pleased with our family’s experience with the instructors and the school. Thank you!Eric L
Innate ability to calm, yet push my son…
My husband and I signed our 3 year old son up for swim lessons with the British Swim School in September 2017. The instructors have been extremely patient, personable and professional. It’s funny how they have the innate ability to calm, yet push my son to being successful. It warms my heart when my son tells me he wants to be the best swimmer and diver ever!Miss Natasha

Every May, the need for ongoing water safety education is highlighted during Water Safety Month. At British Swim School, every month is water safety month because unfortunately, drowning is the fifth leading cause of unintentional death in the United States.
Learning Water Survival is first and foremost a skill – not a sport or activity. It is a lifelong necessity, and is always in-season.
Even strong swimmers can run into trouble if they fall in the ice. Enjoy the the winter season more by learning how to judge ice conditions and what to do in a case of an ice emergency.
Did you know your child could get smarter by learning how to swim at an early age? An in-depth study* shows children in swim lessons performed significantly better than the typical population in every major milestone.
Purchase swim lessons for that special someone this year. And give the gift of life.
Why teach kids to swim in their clothes for survival week? In one word: safety. As we teach students water survival techniques, one important lesson is learning to navigate the water while fully clothed.
