On March 2nd British Swim School kicked off its lessons in at Lincoln High School in Jersey City. This new location is the first British Swim School location that is not in downtown Jersey City. For owner Robert Stapf this was a tremendous step in furthering British Swim School’s lifesaving initiative.
He stated that “Our mission is to save as many lives as possible, and we have heard from many Jersey City residents who don’t live downtown that they would love to have us closer and more accessible to them. We are very proud that we can finally bring our important service to their local community. A lot of business focus on the downtown Jersey City area, but we want to bring water safety to all of Jersey City. This is just the first of several locations that we are planning to open outside of downtown.”
The importance of water safety should be a widespread message for all, according to the CDC, “drowning is the number one reason of accidental death for children under the age of 5.” This is an alarming statistic that everyone should be aware of regardless of where they live. Which is why British Swim School is bringing water safety lessons to an area that doesn’t have access to it. Lessons at LHS will be held year-round Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4pm and 8:30pm as well as on Saturday mornings. Enrollment is constant, and open now. Parents are encouraged to enroll soon – before the spring rush starts, as class sizes are very small (4:1 ratio) and book out fast. Prices start at $28.30 per 30-minute lesson. The lessons take place in the school’s indoor heated pool located at 60 Crescent Avenue in Jersey City.
