It happens every day….
With so many things for parents to worry about these days, it’s easy to put aside swim lessons. Just like soccer or other sporting activities, right? Not quite. The thing that we need to remember is that swimming is MORE than just another activity; IT IS A LIFE-SAVING SKILL.
We heard another tragic story today, this time in a small town in China, of children playing near water. One child falls in and 7 of their friends jump in to help. What seems like a heroic effort, ends with 8 children who perish.

Drowning is still the #1 cause of accidental death for children under the age of 5. It’s the second leading cause of death for children under 14.
At British Swim School our focus is water safety FIRST. We teach water safety skills first and foremost to children as young as 3-months-old all the way to teenagers who may be interested in our swim team.
Help us keep children safe in the water. Let us teach them “Throw, don’t go” so they will know not to jump in after their friends, but to throw a safety line and call for help.
If your kids don’t need water safety training, tell your friends and neighbors. Let’s work together to teach our children what to do in an emergency.
We need to be tenacious. We have to be vigilant. We can make a difference.
