BSS Multiplies National Presence by Offering Lessons at National Fitness Chain

Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Sept. 22, 2014 – More of our nation’s children will soon be safer in and around water, thanks to a new relationship between British Swim School (BSS) and LA Fitness. BSS, which offers child survival, water safety and lifelong swim instruction, now has the opportunity to operate in certain LA Fitness locations around the country. Under this agreement, BSS and its franchisees will have the ability to utilize LA Fitness’ pools to reach additional families and hold more swimming lessons. Starting this week, classes will begin in multiple Florida locations; BSS anticipates expansion into specific Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania clubs within the next few months. Moving forward, existing and new franchisees will have the ability to coordinate with clubs in their area.

This is a tremendous opportunity for British Swim School’s business model, as it may offer accessibility to hundreds of pools for current and potential franchisees across the U.S. From a corporate perspective, enrollment at BSS is expected to skyrocket and the company’s mission to save lives will extend into more communities. British Swim School currently operates in 54 pools in the U.S. and internationally in Turkey. With this new relationship, British Swim School will potentially be in 28 states.

“This relationship and the subsequent growth will inevitably have a positive impact on our business, our franchisees and the general public,” said Rita Goldberg, Founder of BSS. “British Swim School is committed to saving the lives of children through water education and every new pool drastically expands our reach. LA Fitness provides a phenomenal venue for our lessons and we’re thrilled to dive in.”

The British Swim School method was developed by Founder Rita Goldberg and has evolved over the last 33 years. The methodology teaches water safety survival skills to children as young as three months old. The back float is considered the most important water survival skill, as it enables swimmers to rest, breathe and call for help, alleviating the “silent” danger of floating face down. Drowning is the leading cause of death in children under five.

The multi-million dollar swim industry is one of the most underestimated business opportunities. With year-round enrollment, long-term customers and affordable investment costs, British Swim School’s franchisees have the ability to bring in substantial revenue. In addition, BSS’s unique model does not demand the significant upfront investment in expensive facilities like other swim school franchises require. Instead, BSS leverages existing facilities to minimize upfront investment and maximize returns.
